So get this, right? A few weeks ago I’m in Riverside with a friend who invited me to some go-kart racing. I’ve never done it before and wasn’t there to take part, rather, just to “help” out. Of course, I didn’t ask what “helping out” meant before I did it and I eventually got put to work on the “pit team”. And no, it’s not as glorious as it sounds, lol.
It’s a lot like you’d expect – hot, tiring work that you really don’t have any desire to do unless you’re really into the sport. Needless to say, I did my job (with a smile, mind you) and was ready to go home. On our way back to the freeway (the traffic was terrible) I see this guy walking in front of a driveway out of a parking lot. The car that is pulling out seems to see him because they stopped and he began crossing. However, soon as he got right infront of the car (more on the driver side) the car begins to drive and it hits the guy! Are you kidding me!??! A handful of people rushed to his aid so I knew there wasn’t much I could do, but goodness, I hope the guy hired himself good legal representation from www.injurylawcentral.com. Talk about a crazy day!
So – when you order pizza, how many do you get? Probably just enough to feed you and your family – one, two, maybe even three or four at most. If you’re having a party, you order a few more – four, five, maybe even six. Now, how much do you pay in a tip when you make that order? If you’re ordering just for yourself or your family you probably give a few dollars, right? And if it’s for a party, maybe eight or ten bucks makes sense, yes? Now – when you order EIGHTY-FIVE pizzas, what do you tip? It’s a bit of an unheard of amount of pizzas in the first place, but, you’d figure you’d tip a little more than just $10 dollars on a near $1,500 dollar bill for pizza. Well, not for somebody who recently purchased those said 85 pizza pies.
A friend of a delivery driver posted the receipt which featured the $10 dollar tip on the 85 pizza order which has went viral on Reddit. Now, just imagine how many trips the poor person would’ve had to have taken to the car – both at the store and when he arrived at the destination – just to get the pizza in and out of the car! That’s worth more than $10 dollars right there! I felt bad for the guy or girl who had to deliver them. Shameful somebody only gave them $10 bucks!
Well this is pretty interesting. Beats By Dre, which recently left Monster is ready to move past just headphones and speakers, though, still keeping their musical roots intact. Apparently, CEO Jimmy Ivoine (yes, that guy from the Dr. Dre and Eminem songs) met with folks from Apple and the two sides combining forces to create a streaming music service to go along side the ITunes store. Now, if you’re not aware, Ivoine is actually the president of Interscope records so the pairing makes a lot of sense.
Apple, who, while they have one of the biggest music markets in the industry with ITunes, lacks a streaming music service like that of Rhapsody or Pandora, so it makes sense they’re trying to get into the market. I think it’s a great idea actually – just a shame it’s taken so long for them to actually do it.
The only problem I see with the situation – and this is general – not just towards this particular situation, is exclusivity rights – like you see in video games, etc. Once a particular record company is offered so much money from a streaming service, then their songs and masters will only be available on that said streaming service. I hope it never goes that route, but, it scares me that it will.
Still – can’t wait to see what Beats and Apple do together!
So I get an e-mail yesterday morning from a friend of mine asking me if I can help him. Sure I thought, but with what? I replied back telling him I had no problem helping him out but I kind of needed to know what exactly I was going to assist him with, yet, he wouldn’t tell me. I thought that was strange so I suspected something was up. Anyway, he told me to meet him at his office after work, which is exactly what I did. When I walked in he was all smiles and told me to sit down, which made the situation really weird, lolol.
Anyway, he does a few things on his computer and points to his screen where I see these vintage engagement rings. For a moment, I wasn’t sure what to say or what he was trying to do but then it dawned on me he was going to propose to his longtime girlfriend. I was so excited for him! He just wanted to ask me my favorite and it’s the same one he picked out, so, I’m sure he’s going to pick that one up here in the next week or two and pop the question.
Now we need to think of what to do to make the question asking extremely special.
I was watching the morning news this morning and one of the anchors was out in the field doing some reporting. She was at some charity event where a bunch of children who were disabled and in wheelchairs were participating in a variety of different sports. Some were playing basketball. Some were playing football. Some were playing softball. Some were playing some other games that I didn’t recognize. Anyway, as she was reporting, she was talking to one of the organizers and he was going over the wheelchairs they had at the event. There were about eight or so lined up and he informed the host that there is a different wheelchair for every sport. Did you know that?! I didn’t! I guess maybe I was naive, but, that was really interesting.
Anyway, seeing all those kids who need a wheelchair so they can play in these games really caught a soft spot in me so I think I’m going to go gather up a few friends so we can pool some money together to buy a used wheelchair or two for those kids. I know if I was their age and in that position that would mean the world to me, so hopefully they’ll enjoy it.
